How we report, and what we won’t do.

We only publish what a current student can tell us.
Every profile is made with students enrolled at that school right now. Not alumni remembering, not admissions staff, not us. When a contributor’s perspective is limited — she transferred in last year, she’s lived off campus — we say so on the page.

If the college already says it, we don’t.
A viewbook can tell you the student-faculty ratio. It can’t tell you where people eat dinner on a Tuesday when nothing is happening, or what the walk to class feels like in August. That’s the only part we’re interested in.

Every section ends with the honest answer.
We call it Real Talk — the thing a current student knows that a tour would never say. Sometimes it’s a warning. It’s always the part readers trust most, and we don’t soften it.

No college pays us, and no college reviews us.
Schools don’t sponsor profiles, don’t approve copy, and don’t see anything before it publishes. Our contributors are never asked to say something positive or negative about their own campus.

We’d rather be slow than wrong.
We won’t publish a school until we have the students to tell its story honestly. That’s why your campus might not be here yet.
