For current college students
Become a Founding Ambassador
Tell the story only you can tell.
Every campus profile comes from students who actually go there — the writers, photographers, and videographers willing to tell the truth about their school. Not rankings. Not marketing. The real feel of a place.
Whether you’re deep in Greek life, on a team, in the theater, in the band, or you just know your campus better than anyone: we want your honest take. The vibe. The dorms. Where to eat, what to skip. The stuff no campus tour will ever tell a seventeen-year-old.
You’re writing for a high school girl and the mom helping her decide — two people trying to figure out where she belongs, with nothing honest to go on. You’re the thing we all wish we’d had.
You write in your own voice. We give you a simple template and handle all the editing.
What you’ll write
- The Profile.
- Your school, unfiltered. The vibe, real student life, where you’ll live, the town, safety, real costs, and what you wish you’d known. Roughly 250–350 words per section.
- The Local Picks.
- Your honest short list — food and drink, shopping, nightlife, things to do, getting around. A line on each about why.
- Real Talk.
- Our signature. Every section closes with the candid thing a current student knows and a tour would never say. “The party’s right outside your door whether you want it or not.” It’s the most-read part of every profile.
What you get
- Your byline. Published, with your name on it. A real clip for your portfolio.
- A founding title. “Founding Ambassador,” permanently, on the site.
- A personal reference. Complete your profile and our founder — a former PR, media, and editorial pro — will write you a recommendation for jobs and internships.
- Your platform, amplified. We put your voice in front of our audience.
- First in line. Founding ambassadors get first access to paid and leadership roles as we grow.
- Merch. Collegist swag.
Why “founding” matters
You’re not joining something finished. You’re shaping it.
Founding ambassadors set the voice every future contributor follows, earn permanent recognition, and are first in line as The Collegist grows. Early believers get remembered.
